• Six posters that embody my fictional concept of a series of ‘Art Weeks’, celebrating six areas in Bali that are all known for their meticulous craftsmanship. During my time in Bali, I loved exploring the island by scooter, visiting several villages, galleries, art markets as well as artist studios. Also my time as co-curator of the gallery space at Kinship Studio adds to these experiences because of the introduction to local artists which opened a new world of techniques and perspectives to me on both the art and crafts.

I remember reading a book – whilst living in Bali – which described a variety of expertise and crafts centered around certain areas and regencies in Bali. These crafts were classified into six various categories; Painters (Ubud), Weavers (Klungkung), Jewelers (Celuk), Bamboo specialists (Blahbatu), Wood carvers (Mas) and Batubulan (Stone carvers), respectively.

This series of posters aim to highlight those various crafts and are a tribute to the locals that are true masters in their arts and expertise.
